   1. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of some drugs.

   1. Dilute solutions of potassium hydroxide can destroy the cell membranes

   1. It is used to produce potassium fertilizers such as potassium sulfate and potassium nitrate.
