Methyl phthalic anhydride is a white solid, molecular formula C6H4(CO)2O, is an important raw material in chemical industry, especially used in the manufacture of plasticizers.
Methyl phthalic anhydride is an important plasticizer. Phthalic anhydride and polyol (such as glycerol, pentaerythritol) condensation to produce polyaryl ester resin, used in paint industry; If polycondensation with ethylene glycol and unsaturated acid, unsaturated polyester resin is formed, which can be used to make insulating paints and glass fiber reinforced plastics.
